Your technique sure beats having to clean off any residue from solvents, and without the same fumes either. Of course, wearing face and eye protection would be wise with any method.

Using an oblique angle with short bursts of air the stuff flew off in about 20 minutes, with no damage to the light gauge metal. I then used a HF small grinder with a SST wire wheel to dress up the surface, amazingly fast, with a quick wipe of presol ready for primer. Used this same procedure on both my J and L easy and fast.
