Hi Keith,
I don’t have one in front of me now, but there is no different casting
number for 300’s. All the differences on 300 transmissions were internal. They
do have a different part number stamped on the right oil pan rail. 1957 and 1958
is 1854123, according to George’s research. There were only 3 different casting
between 56 and 61. 56 was by itself, 57-mid 59, and mid 59-61. The last two were
the change in how the shift cable entered the trans. Casting numbers are on the
left side of the case, usually but not always with a casting date.

Subject: [Chrysler300] Torqueflite casting number
H Gang, Someone gave me a casting number I need to look for a year or so ago, and I've misplaced it. The Torqueflite for a '57 300C is said to have a different casting number from the standard models. As I am looking at old Torqueflites, I would appreciate it if someone can provide this number to me again so I don't end up with the wrong model. Thanks.
