For those of you who did not attend the spring meet in Holland, here's an update on the fall meet. Events are still coming together and the registration form will be out in one to two weeks. You will not want to miss this historic meet in the heart of Kiekhaefer country. Here's what we can tell you now: Our hotel is in beautiful Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin, home of the world famous Road America, the finest natural terrain road race course in the country. The rate is $135.60/night based on a four right stay. We will be there just after the 60th anniversary of the only NASCAR Grand National race ever held there - the 300-B was on the cover of the race program. We have touring laps for your 300/Mopar/special interest car booked on Sept. 22., with a dinner at the track in the works. You will have to preregister at $27 per car. Elkhart Lake was chosen for road racing by Chicago and Milwaukee sports car enthusiasts for its beautiful rolling countryside in Wisconsin's Kettle Morraine region. We will tour the original public-road race courses of 1950-2, now a designated national historic site. See: http://www.historicracecircuits.com We are sorting out the details for a tour of Mercury Racing. In case you haven't been paying attention, this is the true performance legacy of the Chrysler 300. Mercury Racing is back in automotive big time. Here's an idea of what they've been up to lately - make sure you click on the "Passion for Performance" video for some Chrysler 300 racing footage: http://www.mercuryracing.com/sema-2015/ We will hold our concours in Elkhart Lake and have our awards banquet at the hotel. It will be a plated dinner with choice of short rib, chicken breast, or vegetarian option in the low $40s. Other things in the works: A very special guest speaker TSD Rally with cheese factory tour A Wisconsin Fish Fry 300-G parts auction (donated by former member, noted restorer and raconteur Joe James.) The return of concours judging, the evening business meeting, and more Elkhart Lake is about 2.5 hours north of Chicago, and an hour from Milwaukee. We hope to see you there, and don't forget to bring your 300 for a romp on the storied asphalt of Road America. Otherwise you will be bumming a ride. Hope to have things more firmed up this week. In the meantime feel free to email with any questions.
