Re: [Chrysler300] 300G trunk lid number mystery

Hi

My G coupe is a very early modell. It has ship date 08.18.60, and according to Gill Cunningham, it is the 8th buildt G. My car has no 300 letters on the deck lid, and there are no trace of any. On the other hand, my car seems to have had the F medallion between the back seats from the beginning. Don't know how many early cars that had this, but I know there where some.

On and off over the years the issue of the "missing" deck lid numbers comes up.  From past research, I seem to recall that it was the very early cars, the ones built between late August and about November 1960 did not have the numbers.  I am curious to hear from owners of early Gs that do not have factory applied numbers,  what the ship date is on their car, and if it is a coupe or convertible.

Thanks and Happy Holidays!
