I strongly second Mark's idea -- a Facebook page.
Alternatively -- embedded links to images, with or without a thumbnail
image.

Perhaps
there should be a “Chrysler 300 Club, Int’l” Facebook page. It can be a closed
or private group, so anyone who wants to see posts must join through an
administrator. It works well for the other clubs I’m in, and it should work
well for this club as well. Any picture can be posted without a bunch of
difficulty. Several of us are already on the Chrysler 300 Appreciation Society
Facebook page.

" A picture is worth a
thousand words" We all know this to be true. Security issues
aside, the server should allow images somehow. All of us get unwanted
email, with pictures, on a daily basis, and it fills up our junk folder, so we
deal with it. I'd love to be able to receive images from fellow 300
members through the server to broaden the usefulness of the list and promote
communication between members. This is 2015, not 1999 anymore. Embedded
pictures make more sense than attachments too..
Personally, I LOVE the list server. I've received
very valuable advice, and really enjoy reading all of the comments. I've
also found some critical parts I needed, and made helpful contacts with other
members. So, I consider the list server a very valuable asset associated
with being a club member.
However, the one thing that has always disappointed me is
the lack of images. To me, it would be so helpful and interesting to
actually see everyone's car, project, thing they had a question about, etc.
I belong to two other Yahoo Groups, and both allow it. Same with a
multitude of forums I've visited. Collectively on those groups we all
enjoy visual exchange of information.
If images could be included as attachments, if security or
speed of downloading is a concern, one could always choose to simply not open
the attachment. For that matter, it takes perhaps a half second to read
a subject line and delete the entire email if it is not of interest.
That's a simple solution to avoid overloading inboxes.
I see the fundamental purpose of the list server as
communication, and as much as I appreciate even having the list server, an
ability to conveniently engage in visual communication would make it just that
much better, in my opinion.

Speaking
as a retired systems analyst, I agree with Bob's reluctance. Bob should
continue with his reluctance, and change nothing regarding images.
Secondarily, I have enough stuff
coming into my system daily without images adding to the bulk. Text take
very little disk space, memory and download time. Let's leave things as they
are.

Hi Don,
You guys are spinning your wheels. Bob or you need to
go to the Yahoo Groups and change the preferences to allow
jpgs.
I have had this discussion with Bob before and he is
reluctant to allow photos for security reasons.
