[Chrysler300] AAJ disc brake bracket

Reference to earlier posts from me to the group. I am in Oregon assessing the damage on the 1968 Charger where the caliper attached to the AAJ bracket came loose and separated from the rotor causing loss of braking.  From photos I had assumed that the attaching bolts clamping the bracket to the steering parts had separated.  THIS IS NOT THE CASE.  The AAJ bracket remained attached as it should have.  What did fail was the GM designed bolts that you undo to effect change of pads.  Several of us using this system have found that these two bolts per caliper need Lock-tite and periodic inspection to insure their solidarity.  I did remove the original grade 8 bolts attaching the AAJ BRACKET on my 300 and replaced them with slightly longer bolts that I drilled and cotter-pined, but there has been no evidence that this is a safety concern.  MEA CULPA
