Don is correct (he usually is). We “sticklers” like to get the
details right! The “Forward Look” was introduced in Corporate-wide
advertisements in 1955 – see this for an example:

Subject: RE: [Chrysler300] THE FORWARD LOOK
You may be
right..Dodge had “Swept Wing” in 57; but still.. Is that Forward Look on
any 55-56 advertising? I admit to getting involved in only 57 up; the 55
-56 still reminded me of the 53 Dodge 4 dr my dad had…one , er , aesthetically
challenged car ..the roof line “bubble” was like the 53… So back seat guys could
wear a hat? Smile . I did not want to be seen near it, compared to say a
55 Ford Victoria. Talked him into a new 57 and a new 60
dodge. From: Chrysler300@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

THE FORWARD LOOK, here are a few more thoughts on the Chrysler Corp.
slogans. THE FORWARD LOOK began in 1955 for
the whole Chrysler Corp. line-up. "The 100 Million Dollar Look" was
used for the Chrysler line exclusively. Supposedly a reference to the cost
of developing the new car. "The New Shape of Motion" was used
for all the car lines of the corporation in 1957. "Suddenly it's 1960" was used
exclusively for the 1957 Plymouth. Again, some writers have extended this
to the rest of the corporation, but it was only used for the
Plymouth. Don
