For many years, headlight switch knobs were permanently affixed to an actuating rod going into the switch. Then, there would be a little spring-loaded button that released the rod and enabled the rod and knob to be removed as a unit. Then there was usually a bezel that screwed onto the threaded extension of the switch that poked through the dash. Removing the knob and shaft, then removing the bezel allowed the switch to be removed from the back of the dash. I expected an allen screw to hold the headlight knob onto the switch body, but there is none. So how does the switch come apart to remove it from the dash? Being a pull on/off switch, doesn't seem logical to pry the knob off.
