Ray, thanks very much for your suggestion. Actually, I do have a Unisyn I have used for years along with the rare special adapter used to connect to the AFBs. I have use the Unisyn on my E Type (3 SUs) and my TR3 (2 SUs) . I have balanced carbs at 2000 rpm and at 3000 rpm in the past using Dwyer water manometers (it's a hoot) but then they are not balanced at 700 rpm. I expect with a cross ram it makes a bigger difference though as they do not have a common manifold like my TR, Chrysler, Jaguar have. This is a tool, using the air flow at the carb top to balance the two carbs to each other. You can get one from John Lazenby, he discounts to the club members and this tool I have used for over 50 years.
I have no idea where I got it but as a young man, I was the go to guy to get multi-carb engines to run right. Later, living on the water near Annapolis, MD. I tuned many Volvo engined ski boats with 2-3 carbs. If the carbs are not drawing perfectly even, then some cylinders are starving and some are rich.
Google or Bing "Uni-syn" and you will find listing for several suppliers, I see no 4 bbl units listed, but I made an adapter to use mine on my big engines.
Before ordering, check with John to see what he has available. 1 (877) 673-6960 Ask for John. Ray Jones in Mena, AR On Mon, Sep 1, 2014 at 9:18 PM, Michael Moore mmoore8425@xxxxxxx [Chrysler300] <Chrysler300-noreply@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote:
