Re: [Chrysler300] Paint for long rams

I took my rams to a powder coater years ago and had as close a match as they had.  Always easy to clean up with lacquer thinner and no one ever argued that I had a bad color choice.  Just an idea.....

I think the Cummins Apex Red is about as close as one is going to get in matching the original Chrysler 300F Ram Manifold Red master.  There is a little difference that I am sure will not be noticed on the variable surface of the manifolds.  (I didn't realize I once suggested trying to match a medallion!)  That must have been before Dave Schwandt discovered the Cummins connection!  The ram red and the medallion flag red are not the same shade---different Chrysler color numbers.
I painted mine with a "rattle can".

From researching the Tech section of the Club web site, it appears the closest paint to use for the long rams on a 300 F would be Cummins Apex Red.  Other than trying to match the paint on a medallion as suggested by Gil, does anybody have a different opinion of something that would be better/closer?  Also, if the Apex Red is the best choice, is it normally sprayed out of a rattle can, or is it mixed?  Does it go over a normal primer coat?

Any advice from anyone who has experience with this would be appreciated.
