Hell All -- In spite of the long thread regarding gear oils a few weeks ago, I am still unclear regarding a simple question: Is it OK to use Mobil 1 (or any other major brand) synthetic 75w-90 LS GL-5 gear oil in the differential of my 1957 Chrysler 300C? Careful reading of their MSDS shows it contains an extreme-pressure sulfur-bearing compound, but I don't know if my diff has any brass/bronze parts that might possibly be compromised. Automotive chain stores around here don't even carry the old GL-4 stuff any more; only the GL-5 lubes specifically targeted for limited-slip use (which I don't have). Thanks for any insights.
