RE: [Chrysler300] mega 300 auction

Thanks for the link - and on a very quick look, I have have bad feelings that this Auction could end badly re what values these 300s make - are then seen to have.

I base this fear on the fact that the people running the Auction have listed the first 300C early in the auction, and list it's value at about only $40k - now the car might have rust/body issues that sees them state such a low value for a normally rare - sought after 300C colour - Gauguin Red 300C with resto interior, engine bay etc - but what message does so low a price at the beginning of a run of 300s say to potential bidders for the other 300s !?
Other Auction houses do not run poorer similar cars just before the good ones??!!

Add to this the auction states "No Reserves" I think.
And then consider the 300B - supposed 19k original car, yet interior now not original, other rare orig parts/bits changed - is such a car/300B still now a $100k car - my thoughts not so, but others comment??
Values indicated for 300C convert, 300Fs - look about right though?

With many early 300 owners getting older now, we could see a run of 'no reserve no cares' sales coming up - 300 values might be heading down if more care in selling off 300s is not taken?!

Christopher in Australia - my 1st (bought Feb 1981) '57 300C 2157 turned 57 April 16, then 2 days later '57 300C number 2 turned 57 April 18 - tomorrow I hope to near finish major respray of it, then I order couple of armrest bases with my depleted dollars to end it's birthday - been driving 2157 the last weeks - boy on modern radials (235 75 15s)  these 300Cs are fun to drive if you like pushing them a bit.
Next year '58 300Ds will be 58 - and so on - 300ly trivia for you all

Sorry, here's the link I forgot to slip in there. On the whole the photos show some pretty good restorations - some better than others of course.

Auctions America is holding a  collector auction in Auburn, Indiana 8-10 May. The largest  number of vehicles is  the  collection of John Scotti of  Montreal, Canada.  There  are also no less than seven 300s to go on the  block, the  property of  club member Richard Rigoli of  Waltham MA. Price  estimates by the  auction house range from decent to fabulous.

I was  not  aware of this. Won’t  be going, but I imagine several members will likely attend.
