Good point! Yes Ray, I have a Unisyn and an adapter to adapt it to the AFB. I didnlt know anyone else ever tried balancing the carbs, I did not do that this time but will take a look and see how they are balanced. You adjust each carb to each other. The tool measures air flow into the carb and you adjust the settings so that each carb has the exact same flow.
The tool has a tube with a bead in it which floats up and down depending on air flow and when each carb reads the same, they are synchronized.
