Richard, I think you and Chris hit the nail on the head with timing, Although I recently made sure dwell and timing were spot on, the disrtibutor was not very tight and I was closer to 5BTC than I was 10 BTC. Moving it to 10 caused the idle to go up, causing the idle bypass screws to go in, causing a resurvey of the 4 mixture screws etc. I was sirprised by how much better it sounded and it does not die at idle in D-tonight anyway.
