One Problem with changing these transmissions is that the engine
crankshafts are different. The 59 has a longer shaft because the toque converter
has studs on it and bolts on with nuts behind the crank flange &
the 64 crank flange has threads in the bolt holes and has a flex plate that
bolts to the crank with bolts not nuts and the converter bolts on to the flex
plate not directly to the crank like the 59 does. Also the bell housings are
different. the bell housing on the 727 transmission is made on the the
transmission case as one piece. You can still use the push buttons but you
will have to mount the park lever some where under the dash because a 59 does
not have a special spot for this lever..
.
Hope this gives you a little help.
