Re: [Chrysler300] Need carb help.

Welcome to the world of ethanol fuel. When left for more than a few
months, today's fuel with ethanol in it will start to go bad, creating
varnish in the process. The ethanol ruins old rubber parts such as the
diaphragms in old fuel pumps, the varnish will cause the floats to either
stick in the closed position, thereby not letting fuel in the carburetor or
if the floats were down when the fuel evaporated from the bowl, then the
needles will be stuck in the open position leading to flooding. Then to
top things off, when the fuel evaporates from the bowl, then the varnish
will cause the needle check valve in the accelerator pump circuit to stick,
leading to no pump shot. So you now need to remove the carburetors and
take the top off and clean out the needles & seats in the float mechanisms
and remove the pump shooter and loosen up the needle check valve. While
you are at it, you might want to remove the clusters and clean them out
with a very fine wire in all the little orifices and some carb cleaner to
make sure at low speed and cruising you will have a proper air/fuel ratio
and no stumbles on light acceleration.

Then start using the Startron and proper 2 cycle oil in your fuel to
prevent this crap from happening again for a few years, and make sure you
change out your fuel every couple years even with the additives.

Good luck.
