I too had a KYB shock that leaked after I lowered the Imperial off of a floor jack. I was prepping the car for our Branson 300 meet, I was almost done when I noticed a small puddle of oil beneath the car and running down the one shock. I was leaving in the morning to pick up her Dad in TN then head over to Area 51 for the meet. I also had just installed new tires and the thought of an un-damped rear tire running down the interstate creating flat spots upset me. It was early evening when I called RockAuto and they agreed to warranty the shock and ship it to her Dads in TN instead of my home, which I thought was very nice of them. I put the spare tire on the car and drove down to TN. The following day after we arrived the replacement shock was delivered, I installed it, and replaced the spare tire to the trunk and then we left for the meet. It has not given me any problems since and I pay close attention to both of them now so I am wondering if it was indeed a defect.
