Hi All, I have had good success with using Zinc Chromate primer from a spray can on any aluminum bare metal before the finish color(the Cummins paint should take to it very well). It is available from most marine supply stores or through the internet. It is primarily used on lower units below the waterline, but can be used anywhere. It has excellent durability with respect to heat and chemical solvent(I've used on bare metal- iron master cylinders for years, and it held out very well- I hate rusty master cylinders!). It has a particularly strong chemical bond to clean bare aluminum. Just be careful and wear a respirator and rubber gloves...carcinogenic, I believe. John Kuegel, 300F Sent from Yahoo!
