It's not a transmission problem. More likely than too much fuel is a slight starvation from too low a float setting. Other things to look for ----- vacuum leak in brake booster (but that would also cause idle roughness while holding the brake at a stop light). There could be a vacuum hose that's split somewhere and it deflects upon deceleration opening the split for greater air leakage. Maybe your idle speed is still set a little too slow. My bet is a carburetion issue. To help you decide that it is or is not a carburetion issue you might try fattening (enriching) the idle mixture by rotating each of the 4 idle mixture adjusting screws by about 1/2 turn counter- clockwise and the do a trial run to see if the problem is changed. If it's improved then you can conclude that your mixture is going lean when braking. If the problem is worsened then you know that it's getting too much fuel when braking. You can do a little verification of your results by repeating the test with the idle mixture adjusting screws then turned 1/2 turn clockwise from the initial setting. The results should then be reversed. In either case if the result is no noticeable change in characteristic then you either have a significant carburetor problem or you need to look elsewhere for a fault.
