A "numbers matching" balancer, you say?  Please tell me, what numbers stamped on the balancer match which numbers stamped anywhere else on the car?  I am just curious.

Ron at Damper Dudes, is sending me back my repaired damper. He tells me
that our engines are internally balanced and the holes drilled on the
harmonic damper are for 'balancer-neutral' only. Nothing to do with the
crank. The factory wants balance of the damper within 10 grams so many
will have holes drilled in the damper only for this smallish difference.
Ron says that any balancer should be within that tolerance and can be used
on any engine that the balancer looks like. This means that I could have
used any of the spares I have and saved the $115 bucks to repair mine but
at least I can claim a "numbers matching" harmonic if ever need to
sell.....and, oh yeah, it probably will not come loose in my lifetime.
