Hello 300’ly to all! Very nice to hear that the Mobius model of the C300 is going to serve a charity cause. There are a lot of inaccuracies about this “numbered collector” piece of plastic. I purchased 2 kits in June of this year by calling Mobius directly and giving my cc # to the wife of the fellow who produced the model. They are in hobby shops practically everywhere. Over Thanksgiving weekend I was in Hub Hobby in Minneapolis and there were at least a dozen Mobius model sealed kits of the C300 and the Hudson Hornet which could be purchased in stock car form or pure stock. Hobby Lobby in Lawton has some. The collectable issue is intriguing to me. The lady at Mobius told me that they need to sell over a thousand of these models to break even (I paid $26.95 each) and if the C300 kit sells well, then there will be other 300 Letter Car projects they plan to produce. I suggested the 300E,F and J since all the other letter cars are available either in 1/24 diecast or 1/25 resin or as promotional models for Chrysler. The Mobius C300 models are at the same quality level as Tamaya and other high end Japanese kits and definitely serve the purpose of generating interest, excitement and appreciation for the milestone car the C300 was. I bought two and built one in Platinum and the other in Tango Red to go along with the Black one I have in 1/25 diescast. Really, why a certificate for a scale model plastic kit that most likely is going to be built by “Joe Car Guy”? Google Mobius Models in Florida, call the pleasant wife and indulge! The more they sell, the more likely they will produce other Letter Car model kits. I worked with Dave Metzner the designer on the dimensions for the model and furnished him a lot of detailed pictures and descriptions of parts. I also reviewed the early prototypes with the assitance of Rich Barber. I was sent two kits one of which was stolen at the Golden meet. In converstions with Mobius i was told that these kits are selling in the thousands. I think some clarification is in order.
