It also needs a tune up, brakes and my guess is about $5000 in hidden cost like trans, wiring, body work, MAYBE.... As is sets I'd call it a low number 3 [not a driver] close to a numer 4 project. Since it would be a car that needs a complete restore to be show. If it was a driver I'd call it a medume #3 a car that looks good from 20'. But needs everything to be a show car, a #2 / #1. They weren't the best in the world by any standard and whether or not that would increase the price of the car is questionable. As far as the Old Cars Price Guide values are concerned, be aware of the fact that they tend to be much higher than actual sales. Pete Fitch In a message dated 10/23/2012 10:39:14 A.M. So if this car doesn't run, it's a #5 IMHO. A car that 'needs a complete restore to be show' is a #5. Ron ----- Original Message ----- From: "A. I bought hoses for my H a couple of years ago and paid about $100 for both hoses and fittings. As an alternative you might consider a used top motor and hoses. I don't know if you have an LKQ salvage yard in your area. If you do you can go in and remove any part you want and pay a very reasonable price for it. The Chrysler convertable motor packages are interchangable for a large number of years. I took the motor and hoses out of a 1995 LeBaron convertible. Both the motor/pump and the hoses were in very good shape. I paid $20 for both. I installed the motor in my H ( I did not use the hoses since they had been replaced a year ago) and it works very well. It may be slightly slower that the top movement on my L but it is very acceptable. I don't know if the pump capacity could be slightly less. The mounting locations and the fittings are identical. The electrical connection is different so I had to use the connector from the original motor. Just another alternative that would save some work and a lot of money. Pete is spot on with his comments. Additionally, FYI here are the current values from the Haggerty "valuation tools" Aug. 2012 database which are, in theory, based on auction results and other recent sales for a G coupe. #1=$94,600. #2=$76,200 #3=$49.500 #4=$32,200 I think these prices are optimistic in today's market except perhaps at over-priced auctions like BJ. Also, the criteria are extremely stringent especially for a #1 or #2 car. The car in question is probably a #5 (assuming it is complete and not rusty) or a very very low #4 IMHO. A true #1 car is one that is absolutely perfect (think Pebble Beach concurs) and not driven on the road. That said the F and G remain extremely popular (and therefore highly valued) both within the 300 clubs and the marketplace in general. 300ly, Carl B _____ From: mailto:Chrysler300%40yahoogroups.com [mailto:mailto:Chrysler300%40yahoogroups.com] On Behalf Of mailto:pffkllc%40aol.com Sent: Tuesday, October 23, 2012 9:59 AM To: mailto:torquechap%40yahoo.com; mailto:flmopar63%40yahoo.com; mailto:Chrysler300%40yahoogroups.com Subject: Re: [Chrysler300] G, what's it worth ? Top ^ 8 windshield washers Tue Oct 23, 2012 2:52 pm (PDT) . Posted by: "John Skeggs" I have owned my C since '02. It came to me, nicely restored from CA, where probably there is not much need for w/s washers, and I live in Canada, so the car is in storage during our snowy winters, so don't need them here All the same, it would be nice to have everything working. I have some, but not all of the parts on the car already, but I have just bought a complete set of w/s parts from a 57 Imperial. My parts books tell me that all 57 Mopars (and probably later years also) from a 6-cylinder Plymouth taxi to a 300 or Imperial used the same system. So now I would like to install all the missing bits on my car. I can't find anything in the service manual on how to do it. Probably not an item that failed much, and I imagine lots of Mopars went to the crusher with a still working w/s washer system Does any member have an instruction sheet or equivalent that would tell me how to put it all together? There are quite a few wires, and I presume the washer works in conjunction with the wipers, which do work All advice much appreciated John skeggs 613 728 5086 [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] Reply to sender .
