The booster on my 63 300j (note:lower case) had a habit of working fine at light touch but grabbing hard at more serious application of the pedal and not releasing quickly. This caused a lot of embarrassing tire noise. I took the booster to a serious rebuilder of only brake boosters in San Jose CA for a rebuild. I also took two additional cores I had hoping to use for some relief on the expense. The owner said that he knew I must be a Chrysler guy just be looking at the three boosters. My request was to rebuild the Midland-Ross unit that had been on the car. He said that I had all three possibilities for the 60's Mopars, Midland-Ross, Kelsey-Hayes, and the third which was either Lockheed or Wagner (I don't remember which) Of the three, he said the third one (not M-R, not K-H) was the best and most reliable and is the unit of choice. The car now has a perfect brake pedal and is a delight to use.
