I searched for Economical replacements for cables for a 30 year old truck, 12V system. My hunt was hindered by 2 main things, Low $$ and wanting to have something close to original. I figgered the mostly stock type might hold up better then the modern replacements being sold for the application. Also further compounded by the fact that the small block was yanked in favor of a big block years ago so exact replacements were not the best choice since the truck was never offered with a big block (I think). In all The Looking I did I never saw inexpensive replacements suitable for a 6V system anywhere. The cable gauge for a lot of the cheep 12V replacements wasn't even as good as the stock ones. It did take a little luck in scoring what I was looking for. Eventually I was able to get what I wanted but it took some effort and TImE. Yes I could have gotten suitable factory replacements but the price difference between the dealer asking $ and what I eventually paid was enough to pay for some other maintenance frankentruck needed. Lesson Learned maybe: spring for the good stuff if you plan on keeping the car. It Pays! Once in a while this little item is overlooked, Its Best to have the same gauge for BOTH cables, what goes out has to come back (current wise) -- Paul Holmgren Mine: 2 57 300-C's in Indy Hers: 05 PT GT R/T HO Stage 1 Hoosier Corps L#6 ------------------------------------ To send a message to this group, send an email to: Chrysler300@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe from this group, send an email to bob@xxxxxxxxxxxxx or go to http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/Chrysler300/join and select the "Leave Group" button For list server instructions, go to http://www.chrysler300club.com/yahoolist/inst.htm For archives go to http://www.forwardlook.net/300-archive/search.htm#querylangYahoo!
