It seems to vary quite a lot. Some are all black, and some are partial. I guess it depended on who was painting and on what shift. It was painted with the bellhousing bolted to the engine. 300ly, Don Verity ----- Original Message ----- From: jean-yves chouinard To: Chrysler300@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Friday, November 18, 2011 2:02 PM Subject: [Chrysler300] 300F bellhousing Is the transmission bell housing painted black, like the engine, on a 300F? Or is it supposed to be aluminum color... Engine and trans were out of the car when I bought it, but the bell housing, upon cleaning, has some black paint on it, but not all over it...is this maybe just overspray assuming it was bolted in place when the engine got painted at the factory? Thank you!
