Re: [Chrysler300] 1961 ???

I realize this is not 300 related but felt then need to comment.  A very interesting car indeed.  Back in the day I was never a fan of the styling of the '61 Dodge but over the years have come to appreciate them.  What comes to mind is that they were so ugly they are now beautiful.

Regarding the article there are two items I question.  If this is a 413 with "long rams" why would it be 400HP as that rating was only applied to the "short ram" versions back in the day.  My guess is that it is the 375HP version.

The "Kelsey Hayes Wires" is once again an inaccurate statement.  If the wheels are the factory offered optioned (1953-1956 only) they are Motor Rim.  I'm continually amazed at how many writers don't get their facts correct.  I tried to bring the wheels in close enough to identify without much luck but suspect they might even be re aftermarket examples.  If someone can see well enough to count the spokes and get a number higher than 48 then they are definitely not factory offered.

Looking forward to seeing many of you in Lake George next week.  Safe travel to all attending.

John Lazenby
