Hello all, Following is a short email chain, starting at the bottom, in which I emailed Gil C. re the 'RADIO GM' stamping on the new set of plug wires I purchased from Lectric Limited for our F. Gil responded that his beautiful blue F convertible's wires have a 'Packard ...' stamping. The most recent message below, from Greg Hanna, owner of Lectric Limited, affirms that the 'RADIO GM' stamping is indeed correct for '60. Any further thoughts on this? See you in NY. Your car is a 1960 Model so it used the Radio GM script. The "RADIO GM" stamping on these wires did not seem correct to me, so I consulted with my fellow Chrysler 300 Club International club member Gil Cunningham. Take a look at my email to Gil, and his response to me. You can call me on my cell - 630.747.7990 - wondering if you have the correct-for-1960 stamped plug wires. Just checked mine and the printing is as follows: PACKARD TV - R SUPPRESION CABLE - USA All are capital letters, in white, and there is a little circular logo before the "packard"---kind of hard to describe. I assume it was the Packard Wire logo. Mine have no date, as Greg Hanna, with whom I worked in developing the wires, said Packard did not date wires until later----'61 or so, I think. Mine did not come with the #1 wire red distributor boot either. I used one made by Gary Goers. His are not too good, but better than black. Actually, mine looked pretty good to me now. I am soaking several original ones that I collected in the '60s. They were pretty hard, but are softening some after a few years! I talked with Greg Hanna recently, because I wondered about the pictures on the web site. He said (admitted?) that they were not always the ones described. Soooo. It is obvious to me that Lectric Limited owes one of us the correct sparkplug wires!! I think you probably should talk to Mr. Hanna, himself, if you can. You can tell him what mine say, and why. My set were either the first or second set they made for the long ram cars. Good luck. 300ly, Gil In a message dated 9/27/2011 12:50:00 P.M. Eastern Daylight Time, Noel.Hastalis@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx writes: Hello Gil, I have a question on spark plug wires – Following the recent discourse on the Club website, I read the club link on “Spark Plug Wires on Ram Induction Engines” that includes your comments. At the end of the Club link, the referral is to Lectric Limited, Inc. So last week I called Lectric and ordered another new set of wires. Current pricing is $75.00, plus shipping. My question is – I now have the new set of wires from Lectric, and the stamping – in white - on the wires says: · RADIO GM · TVRS · The #3 wire does have the 135-degree bend in it, with the other plug nipples all being straight. When I ordered the new set, I mentioned that the distributor nipple for #1 wire should be red, but they said they had no red nipples, and made it up using a black nipple. There’s no other stamping on these wires. When I go to Lectric’s website, the photo shows the following stamping – but of course I don’t know if their photo applies to ’60 wires, or some later year. Here’s what Lectric’s website photo shows – in YELLOW stamping – 1. CHRYSLER CORPORATION (with Pentastar logo preceding the printing. “Chrysler” is in larger font, with “Corporation” printed below “Chrysler” o The Pentastar was not used yet by Chrysler in ’60, so I know that’s not accurate for the “F” 2. H 3 – 68 QM 3. ELECTRONIC SUPPRESSION Can you tell me if the RADIO GM stamping is correct for ’60, or if Lectric has sent me the incorrect wire stock? Thanks, Noel Noel T.
