Hi, Gloria:
Thanks for the info.
I use NuFinish on my black HHR SS daily driver (and my not-so-black Mopars). No
swirls to deal with, even in direct sunlight. Lasts about one year. I use
McGuire's detailing concoction to refresh the shine. Always lookin' good.
Best,
Ron Kurtz

Subject: [Chrysler300] Silicone Waxes. Bad stuff? Turtle Black Box System
"Carnauba blend"???
Hi all,
1. We understand from more than 1 bodyman that one should not use waxes
that have silicone in them. Reason is (at least in part) body shops have
real problems in painting these cars, especially when trying to blend in a
spot area. Seems that they cannot get out the silicone that has penetrated
into the paint and silicone does bad things to new paint, like Armorall type
products do.
TRUE?
2. As we recall, Turtle was one of the first to go to silicone waxes. Does
anybody know if Turtle "Black Box" 3 step wax system contains any silicone?
It is called a "Carnauba blend" wax - what ever that means. Carnauba
blended with what? Mother's is pure Carnauba. We've asked Turtle Wax
customer service about this by phone only to be told that they don't know
but they will have the government required Specs. sheet on their "Black Box"
product e-mailed to us "right away" .
So far (you guessed it) no e-mail!
Thanks for anything that any of you might know on the subject.
Our Best,
Happy 300ing.
A&G Moon
