I know by experience on the manual aluminum case transmission there is a very serious problem after the first rebuild ; In that the case becomes warped for some reason and the shift can jump out of gear especially from first to second where the most torque is applied. It was found that bushings did not help and there was no apparent way to realign the case. Could this perhaps happen in the automatic as well. We were never certain if it was normal ware or some fault in the remanufacture process. Comments would be appreciated. The shift between 1st and 2nd is not a hard shift like it used to be. They convinced me to rebuild the trans although it seemed to shift pretty well. It had been 21 years since the last rebuild, but only about 35000 miles. Could this be a throttle linkage issue or something else, or non-issue? All other aspects of the trans seems to be fine.
