I don't think there are special tools needed. I
use a punch and a hammer to carefully drive the
old seal out, support the timing cover around the
seal recess. After cleaning the recess, gently
start the new seal into the recess (facing the
correct way), and tap it in evenly while
supporting the timing chain cover. I use a large
socket for this purpose, but any tool that has a
large surface area to avoid denting or warping the seal will work.
