The inside of the brake cooling ducts were painted the same red/orange as the screens in the front. It turns out that the color is very nearly an exact match for Chevy engine orange, readily available at any auto parts store. I think it's actually just plastic with with a fiber reinforcer rather than fiberglass, and it has a kinda brownish look. More or less the same material as your firewall airbox. You can repair any cracks with a little black or brown epoxy.
