So.... My transmission guy adjusted the carburetor to transmission linkage a few hundred miles ago and the car has been shifting good and hard (but not too hard). Then the plastic clip that lives on top where the transmission bolts to the motor started to pop out of its metal housing. I replaced the thin, old clip with a good original. (Thanks Ken!) Now THAT clip is popping out too! (This is the clip that holds a horizontal rod... and the linkage offshoots from that rod towards the carburetors AND down the firewall.) I assume that I need to break out the shop manual and do the full linkage adjustment procedure from start to finish? Any other thoughts? Thanks!
