RE: [Chrysler300] Disc Brake Conversion for 300G

Rick,

I've been looking into installing discs on the front of my G also. It is
not as straightforward of a process as some have said. The challenge is not
so much the brakes themselves (AAJ offers them), it is dealing with the
master cylinder and proportioning valve. I spoke with AAJ and they tell me
finding the right dual pot late '60s Plymouth master is the way to go but
they are hard to find and you may have to replace your pushrod if it is not
adjustable. Also, do you use a dual pot made for drum/drum or disc/drum?
There are advantages and disadvantages both ways regarding fit and
availability and AAJ does not offer them. You can stick with the original
single pot master, but it is recommended that in either case a proportioning
valve be installed. Replies to the list are appreciated on this issue as I
too would like to read the responses. Also read the write-up on the 300
website for the "home-brew" conversion Dan Reitz did on his 300F in 2000.

Subject: [Chrysler300] Disc Brake Conversion for 300G

Hello friends - After a few years of sitting in a garage, my brother Bruce's
G has been revived. She's running fine, but after much brake work over the
years, we've decided to convert to front disc brakes and a dual master
cylinder. I know some of you have already done this conversion. What has
your experience been? What parts or conversion kit did you use? Thanks for
any insight on this you can offer.
