Over the years and doing (3) 1955 cars and (2) 1956 examples I've done searching to find the correct hoses. I've never found molded hoses that fit perfectly, but with a fit of trimming they will. Unfortunately I have this info in the glove box of our '55 Imperial which is not at this location. I should be able to provide part numbers tomorrow. The bottom hose has a slight offset which works perfectly when trimmed. The top hose (non A/C) is a good fit with minor shorting. One thing to be aware of is the original thermostat housing neck did not have a step-down in size and was the same as the neck of the radiator. There are replacement thermostat housings available with a smaller neck, thus one would need to find a hose with smaller diameter. I've never researched what part number hose that would be, but I've seen them on cars. Just last week I had a call from a local (Southern Calif.) owner of a C300 with this problem of the thermostat housing which was rotted out. I suggested he take what he had to his local muffler shop and see if a replacement could be built. Even if the neck is bad, but the flange is still useable this should be an easy repair. I hope all find this information of some use and I'll provide those hose part numbers I've used tomorrow. John Lazenby Royze Inc. 1990 W. The water outlet/thermostat housing has a vertical outlet, the hose starts vertically, then has a couple of bends to the offset horizontal radiator connection. They did have a molded hose #9067 that looked like it might fit after being cut in half. The ID may not fit over the block outlet.
