To state the perhaps obvious: If an auxiliary transmission fluid cooler is being added to provide cooler fluid to the transmission, the aux cooler would seem best located on the return line between the outlet of the radiator cooling section and the transmission. If the aux cooler is being added to reduce cooling load on the radiator, the aux cooler would be added on the inlet line between the transmission and the radiator. In cold climates, an aux cooler on the radiator outlet could return pretty cold fluid to the tranny before the radiator and coolant warm up. But, the tranny?s must be designed to handle a wide range of air and fluid temperatures. Beleve you can get into truble putting cold fluid into a hot tranny.Just my 2ct.
