I'm not familiar with "K"'s, but if it has a bulkhead or firewall plug, that's the place to start.
This is where ALL the power and controlling wires go thru the firewall to the dash and fusebox inside.
The connections get corroded and cause all kind of electrical problems. 
On any old car with this type of plug it's a good idea to disconnect it and clean the connections just as preventive maintenance.
