The nylon bushings have a groove in the center of them. The snap ring ends protrude through the two small holes in the "z-bar" into the groove. It should not be so difficult to remove the bar. Doesn't your inner fender have a 2-1/2" hole with a plug in it that lines up with the mount for the bar? If not, there is still plenty of room to get a wrench between the inner fender and the frame. It is of course much easier to see on a lift rather than on your back. Also, you could wind out the ball mount on the bell housing; there is no snap ring there so you can push the ball mount as far as it will go into the "z-bar" and that will give you room to angle the bar out.
