REALLY LOW LOW LOW resistance, more like a shunt, the meter movement in almost
all annylog meters actually reacts to low levels of CURRENT flow, so with the
right bridge circuitry the faces are marked for the desired readings. A shunt
can be a wire winding, a metal strap of a predetermined size, or a resister
across the wire winding. Once one of these is dramaged dats it for the meter
movement usually. GOing open tends to KILL the circuit its a part of, that is
why for awhile some of the mopar current meters actually had a pickup loop that
used induction to detect the current flow, No actual active part of the meter
actually handled the higher current flows of the cars electrics.
