I was working on my backhoe, trying to free up and drive out a large pin. For two days I heated the bushings and beat on the pin; alternately cooling everything and beating, then heating and trying again. I tried penetrating oils and even split the bushings with a torch. Then I remembered an e-mail telling about testing done on the various brand name penetrating oils. The e-mail told about a homemade recipe, (50/50 acetone and transmission fluid), and how it was far superior to the others. I mixed some up, squirted it on, smacked the pin with the sledge hammer, and the pin started to move!!! Once it started moving, it came out. Try it out and let us know your results!
