How long does the engine have to sit before it will start? How warm does it have to be before the problem arises? You should be able to check the ground connections by checking the voltage drop at different points during cranking. Have you considered that the engine might be cranking slow due to internal resistance when hot? In the past I have used a water hose directed on the starter motor to promote cooling of the starter as a test. If the engine cranked well sooner than normal after cooling the starter motor then it points to that component.
