13.8 volts would be ideal, but not below 12.0 volts. In a properly operating electrical system in a car, engine running, the accessories see about 13.8 volts less any voltage drops. I would not go above 14.5 volts. I have 2 complete 62 300 dash board assy's , still wired, astrodomes in place & working radio's clocks etc. I plan to mount these units in a bookcase style setting & want to energize the electrical system, I'm thinking a simple DC converter but to what volt limit ? Would 12 volts direct be too much ? Anybody know? I'm not up to speed on this kind of stuff. I plan to convert the radios to fm stereo & add some speakers & power antenna. Should make a great & unique garage or game room piece, especially after dark. Thanks for any help, Mac, in some kind of ice rain, Fla.
