Re: [Chrysler300] 300D 1/24 Scale by Franklin Mint

Brandt,
I just ordered the D convertible. The website catologue for Franklin Mint did give more detail than the mail catalogue received 3-4 weeks ago. It appears the tail lights are correct, the steering wheel colors, and air cleaners are also accurate as well as the color for a D, however, the wheelcovers are for a C. I contacted Franklin Mint about 3-4 weeks ago and pointed out the wheel cover discrepancy and I was told it would be communicated to their technical people. We will see. My question is this: Did early D production use '57 wheelcovers until the D wheelcovers became available? Or is this an inaccurate wheelcover on a D that Franklin Mint used to base their model? Or did Franklin Mint take a short cut on producing the model to cut cost and use the wheelcover left over from their C convertible and pass it on as accurate for a D thinking that the purchaser would be less discriminating? Then my dilemma is: to return the model if everything is correct except the wheelcover or keep it thinking that it is an interesting anachronism of the hobby? 300'ly, ROB KERN

  Hello everyone in 300sville!

Say, there's a new D convertible ('58) in 1:24 scale by Franklin Mint!! One should be able to go to www.franklinmint.com . If not it could be always googled. Melissa, (my G) still awaits an engine rebuild so I'll keep you all posted on that! ; -)

  Sincerely & 300ly, Brandt H J w/ a G!
