Everything I have ever heard regarding the F Specials leads me to believe they did come equipped with alternators and not generators.

Some Plymouths (Valiants I believe) came with alternators starting in 1960, so they were available for installation on some cars before they became standard on all models in 1961.

-I've looked at the photos on the auction house website...does anyone know why there is an alternator and chromed air cleaners, valve covers, etc.??...(and what look like stainless hose clamps?)...was it like that in Daytona Beach in 1960??

Comments? I've seen it and driven it. Its preserved original condition is at least as amazing as its racing history.
