I have seen an identical additional bumper guard on a '55 C-300 belonging to a member in Iowa--that car happens to be the very first one I saw when I was 17. Pictures attached for the individuals and available to the curious. It appears to be identical to the pieces bolted to the Windsor front bumper as standard. The ad did indicate it was an optional piece, probably from a dealer. While it does add some protection to those beautiful 300/Imperial grilles, it also covers them up somewhat and detracts from the simplistic beauty of the lines of the C-300, IMHO. The front bumper guards on C-300's appear to be unique to the C-300, but are similar to the notched pieces used to hold the horizontal bar on the Windsors and to the un-notched inner bumper guards on Imperials. The Imperial bumper guard does not include the horizontal piece. The red car shows a 25/Tango red paint code and the VIN tag, fender tag and engine s/n stamp look authentic, but someone painted the top white and added New Yorker side trim and white spear to the sides. I've heard of New Yorkers cloned into 300's, but never vice-versa. Gloria/Gil: These may be grist for the registry.
