John and Arlys: Thank you for that great story! Carol and I wish our dating/marriage 300C was in the condition of yours, but at least we still have it. Its center front seat belt still has the Dymo lettering "Carol" on the buckle. (Your video made me think of that.) Your story really ought to be reprinted in one of our Club publications for all members to see----if that would be possible. Look forward to seeing you both at Branson. 300ly, Gil C. We thought we should share the article with Club members. Last week we drove our 1957 Chrysler 300C Coupe to Tacoma, Washington to the Chrysler 300 Club National Car meet. When we stopped in downtown Portland on the way to Tacoma, two ladies stopped to admire our car and commented on it. Later we found they worked for the Oregonian newspaper. When we arrived home on Sunday, we received a call from an Oregonian reporter asking us for an interview on Tuesday. We said it was ok. We were surprised that it was such a long article and it appeared on the front page of the paper with a 5 x 7 picture of my wife, Arlys with our 300C, taken September 1958. You can read the article which is in today's paper (Friday, Sept 4) : www.oregonlive.com , click on Portland news or http://tiny.cc/50years401 The title is: A Portland love story: The car -- and the couple -- still going strong after 50 years by Tom Hallman Jr., The Oregonian In addition to the pictures, comments; there is a two minute video. We have owned the 1957 Chrysler 300C for 51 years and drove it on our honeymoon in July 1959.
