While we are talking tires, my C has tires from a company called Hercules, which I think might be a distributor rather than a manufacturer. Have club members any views or experience of them? I have driven the car about 10 thousand miles without incident since I bought it in 2002 From: Chrysler300@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:Chrysler300@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of John Sent: Thursday, September 03, 2009 7:43 AM To: Chrysler 300 Club Intl Subject: Re: [Chrysler300] Coker tires When I was a teenager in the 1970s, I had a 360HP 300-K coupe (no sway bar) on Goodyear Custom Power Cushion bias ply tires (H78-14) and a 1963 Newport four-door on economy radials (GR78-14, I recall). The Newport leaned more in the corners, but on those radials, it handled better at all speeds than the 300-K on the bias ply tires. I have Cooper 235/75/R15 narrow whites on both of my H's and they handel great. I paid $95 each at my local tire store. I have driven the car about 600 miles on them including the trip to Carlisle, with no problems. There's probably a total of 3 oz. of weights over all 4 tires. One tire took no weights at all. BTW, this car is still for sale. As an alternative for 14 inch tires, you may consider this one. Hancook P225-70R-14. ? They are sold through Discount Tire. There are a couple other brands listed too for that size. ? I would be curious to hear comments about the size difference vs. OEM. These should hold the road better due the shorter side wall? ? http://www.discount tire.com/ dtcs/searchTires BySize.do? r=ILCINT% 7Cpc%7C60010& ar=70&rd= 14&cs=225 ?
