RE: [Chrysler300] Coker tires

Comments on how different cars handle.

Worn Torsion bar bushings can make a big difference in how the car handles. Our 1970 Chrysler 300 convertible was not a good road car. Finally, we replaced the torsion bar bushings and what a different handing car. Now we enjoy driving it on back roads and higher speeds.

Mark,

I can't believe that a 64 Sport handels better than a H! - I've drived one.

I have Cooper 235/75/R15 narrow whites on both of my H's and they handel great.

I have those Hancook P225-70R-14 whitewall tires on my 64 300 and the car handles better than my 300H. I paid $95 each at my local tire store. I have driven the car about 600 miles on them including the trip to Carlisle, with no problems. There's probably a total of 3 oz. of weights over all 4 tires One tire took no weights at all. BTW, this car is still for sale.

Hi All,
?
As an alternative for 14 inch tires, you may consider this one.
Hancook P225-70R-14.? They are sold through Discount Tire.
There are a couple other brands listed too for that size.
?
I would be curious to hear comments about the size difference vs. OEM.
These should hold the road better due the shorter side wall?

I just took a look on Coker's web site and it appears they are still selling the
235/75R14 radials in both 1" & 2.5" whitewalls. The price is now up to $22800
ea (UGH).

Hey!! Somebody's gotta pay for their screw ups!!! Right???

Well guess who gets elected !!!
