A question for the automatic transmission experts out there. I took off the pan on th transmission on my 300D to replace the gasket. While wiping transmission fluid off the exposed underside of the transmission, I accidentally pushed a plunger which is located about a 1/4 way back on the drivers side. The plunger moves a lever above it that has detents on it. I think the plunger is called the manual valve. The question is that I don't know where the plunger should be set since I moved it without noticing where it was set. The gearshift was in neutral & I suppose the valve should be located so it corresponds to the neutral position. The service manual says nothing about how the valve should be set. Your help would be much appreciated. Thanks. Larry D'Aloise Lawrence T. D'Aloise, Jr. Clark, Gagliardi & Miller P.C. The Inns of Court 99 Court Street White Plains, NY 10601 Tel.
