I have kits and rebuild all pumps for our 300's. The 55/56 is the toughest
due to the large casting. We media blast the entire casting inside and out.
The seal surface is part of the casting and must be machined. You will get
the best workmanship available. The inside of casting is coated to reduce
corrosion. We install new bolts on the access plate. New shaft , bearing and
seal, US made. Final step, prime coat the exterior of the raw casting.

Labor $154 + $37 kit.

  I quickly concluded I should not tackle the job,  I called Egge, price
$195 but no kits on hand; Friction in Damascus OR, price, $65 ; OG in
Lubbock Tx; $118.  How can there be such a variation, $65 makes me
suspicious of the work. ANY RECOMMENDATIONS?
