Bill, One pump to start your cold engine should set the choke and give a burst of gas from the accelerator pump in the carb. Then, about 1/3 pedal while cranking, and it should fire right up, if everything is set up properly. If the cross ram engine is anything like my inline setup, when it's flooded, holding the pedal down to the floor while cranking, should clear up the excess gas by allowing more air into the carb horns. You might want to check your coil, plugs, points, and timing, too. As far as you car values, my view is your car is worth what a willing buyer will pay a willing seller. Antique and collector car values generally shadow the same trends as your run-of-the-mill used cars but for different reasons. A three year old Charger will show a decrease in value because the trade-in value is down. Car dealers will look for as much turn-around profit as possible. An antique car's value may be down because people in general don't have as much disposable cash available to spend on non-essentials like collector cars, and thus, there are fewer willing buyers.... Just my opinion. To pump or not to pump...that is my question.I am only now getting my "G"on the road and I keep flooding it when starting with what I feel is miserly pump action. What is the consensus on starting procedure for this car when properly tuned?. ???? Also, does anyone have any insights into how the changing auto industry will effect the value of our cars?.
